Patrick Macnee has died at the age of 93. He is best remembered for his role in The Avengers which first aired in 1961. Ian Hendry was the original lead, when he left, Macnee became the lead and was teamed with a female co-star lead. First was Honor Blackman then Diana Rigg, with Rigg as Emma Peel the result was television history a magical world of action and fantasy, The final Avengers series came to an end with Linda Thorson as Tara King.
